Rabbi Ari Sytner

Rabbi Sytner was born in Brooklyn and raised in upstate Monsey, New York, where he attended Yeshiva Shaarei Torah, under the dynamic leadership of Rabbi Berel Wein.  Rabbi Sytner studied for two years in Yeshivat Mercaz Hatorah in Jerusalem and then received his B.A. in Psychology from Ramapo College of New Jersey.  After receiving his Rabbinic ordination from Rabbi Wein, Rabbi and Chana Sytner relocated to Des Moines, Iowa where they were involved in outreach and education through the Des Moines community Kollel.  Rabbi Sytner then earned his Masters Degree in Educational Administration and served the Des Moines community for the next three years as the Senior Rabbi of Beth El Jacob Synagogue.

After five years in the cold climate of Iowa, the Sytner family relocated in June, 2004  to Charleston, South Carolina and joined the ranks of the many proud rabbis that have led BrithSholom Beth Israel Congregation.

Rebbetzin Chana Sytner possesses a B.A. in Psychology and is currently a second year law student at the Charleston School of Law.  The Sytners have four young children, Reuven, Meyer Simcha and twins, Akiva and Aliza.

Rabbi Sytner has breathed an invigorating breath of fresh air into our congregation.  He currently teaches a diverse schedule of adult Torah education classes throughout the week, as well as a daily Gemara (Talmud) course to grades 7 and 8 at Addlestone Hebrew Academy.

Our rabbi is extremely open, warm and friendly, and would love to hear from you.  We invite you to get to know Rabbi Sytner and his family.
